Originally, the plan was for both the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to launch in 2021. However, it’s since been announced that those next-gen versions of the game have been pushed back to next year. Specific release dates weren’t revealed, but now fans shouldn’t expect the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 until Q1 of 2022, while the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 isn’t coming until Q2 of 2022....

In an interview with Game Informer Patrick Mills, quest designer on CyberPunk 2077, confirmed that, while the game features many different ways to play, there is no pacifist playthrough option. “You do play as a mercenary, so there are not non-violent solutions to all problems,” said Mills. “It’s not possible go through the game non-violently. You’re a mercenary. Your job is violence.” This might come as a disappointment to some fans who were hoping to be given all-out freedom in the new title but in reality, it makes sense....

One area of concern that emerged from the game’s official age rating was the claim that it featured in-game purchases, with players growing worried that the title could be adding microtransactions in an effort to make a little extra cash on the side. It seems video game outlet Twinfinite decided to approach CD Projekt Red with this exact issue, with the popular developer thankfully reassuring fans that there’d be no microtransactions in sight when players booted up their copy of Cyberpunk 2077....

Responding to a fan question asking if Cyberpunk 2077’s DLC will be free like that of its “big brother” The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the official Cyberpunkgame Twitter account gave fans a definitive response. German gaming site GameStar spoke to Cyberpunk 2077 senior level designer Miles Tost and senior quest designer Philipp Weber in a new series of podcasts. Fans translations on Reddit reveal that the developers confirmed that more than 1,000 NPCs in the game will have “a handmade routine.” In comparison, there are areas in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt where NPCs just had no routine. In theory, this should allow players to follow an NPC as they move from work, to a nightclub for drinks at the end of the day, and back home to their apartment, if that is the routine that CD Projekt RED has designed for them....

Granted, in all fairness, crafting a fully-fledged RPG in a cyberpunk setting means nailing down the gunplay and the unique cyberware abilities first. Even still, one of the most common complaints from early previews of Cyberpunk 2077 has been the lackluster melee combat in the game’s current state. Visual feedback and evoking weight in melee combat was an issue in Skyrim that CD Projekt Red will likely need to address with Cyberpunk 2077, despite being so close to release....

One video game that was seemingly and/or mostly spared from the new meme surge was Cyberpunk 2077. With the latest Patch 1.52, which has just come out on all eligible platforms, Cyberpunk 2077 continues trucking along its path of redemption, and players that are still having fun with the game should now be able to enjoy a more stable experience across the board. A former team-mate of shamed cyclist Lance Armstrong, Norway’s Steffen Kjaergaard, will escape sanctions despite having admitted doping, the country’s anti-doping agency announced on Monday. Kjaergaard, who competed in the 2000 and 2001 Tour de France on Armstrong’s US Postal Service team, admitted in October last year that he took the banned blooster erythropoetin (EPO).
