At the apparent urging of President Donald Trump, rioters descended upon the Capitol building on Wednesday seeking to disrupt the Congressional certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in the Electoral College. An undetermined number of rioters stormed the Capitol rotunda and were able to gain access to the offices of some lawmakers. In a Wednesday press conference, D.C. Police Chief Robert Contee said that not only had people been arrested, but 4 individuals had died during the riots....

Posting on Reddit’s r/AmITheA**hole sub, user starless012 explained she normally takes her daughter to see her ex-partner’s family twice a year. However, on this occasion, they’re going to starless012’s sister’s bachelorette trip instead. The post has received over 7,600 upvotes and the top comment alone has been upvoted 15,000 times. Sharing his story on Reddit, user u/ConcernEquivalent744 explained that his brother and his wife had kicked out their daughter at age 17. As members of a conservative Christian church, they were unhappy when she came out as a lesbian. Fortunately, her grandparents took her in and paid for her to attend college. ConcernEquivalent744 also stepped up, bonding with his niece and trying to provide a “safe space” for her....

In the video posted by Shari_lea_plus_3, the mom-to-be enters the car after a doctor’s appointment, where her husband is waiting. Shari captioned the video, which has been watched more than 7 million times: “Telling my husband we’re having triplets.” Already aware of the incredible news, she makes sure to keep the camera rolling as she hands him a copy of her ultrasound scan....

Mark Polyakov, a 37-year-old father from Miami-Dade County, threatened over text that he would “burn” down his son’s Jewish private school, Scheck Hillel Community School, but said that the word “burn” was misinterpreted, his attorney Mark Eiglarsh told Newsweek on Friday. “If his messages were read in context and in their entirety, the only conclusion a reasonable person can reach is that he wanted to get a lawyer to sue the school to burn it down legally, not physically/actually,” Eiglarsh said....

Harris’ heart reportedly stopped for a time, but his agent said the fighter is now in stable condition and expected to remain hospitalized for “a day or two,” ESPN.com reported. Even though it is a heavy workload, I really like these full 15 game MLB slates to work with. The early games and split slates just aren’t something I enjoy these days. Tonight we have just one true ace pitcher on the mound in Madison Bumgarner, who is not in a great spot (at NYY) but is still a very worthy option. I think that I will be paying down for pitching and getting aggressive with the bats this evening....

CSA reported the expected loss when it tabled its financial statements at its AGM in Cape Town yesterday, but added that the authority’s finances were still strong. “In commenting on the financial statements, I would like to stress that CSA remains in a very healthy financial position. We have a very strong balance sheet and a favourable cash position. Our income balance after taking into account the loss for the year is R655-million,” CSA President Chris Nenzani said....
