This goes for clothing and cybernetics as well. It’s difficult that there are so many guides dedicated to finding equipment, but so few resources that tell players how to make the equipment shine. Of course, some room for personal taste is in order, but there are a set of mods like the Countermass and Vendetta that most people agree will make V’s journey through Cyberpunk 2077 a successful one.

Updated on February 20th, 2022 by Hodey Johns:With the release of Patch 1.5, gamers are likely to give Cyberpunk 2077 a second chance. Gamers that pick up the game for the first time will be treated to a superior experience at first than the veterans who have been gaming since launch, but there is still a steep learning curve. Experts of the game might think a patch is no big deal, but they’ll wake up and find all of their perks refunded and some of their mods rebalanced and back in the inventory. This list has been updated with fresh information for both the new folks and the elite.

10 Clothing Mod - Panacea

Grants immunity to poison and shock effects.

Immunity to two major damage types (poison and sock) is an absurd and borderline overpowered advantage. Those who have invested in the best technical tree skills will need some protection for when combat is unavoidable and the Panacea goes a long way.

Where To Find The Panacea

It must be crafted, but the crafting spec can be found for free in a chest to complete an NCPD assault in progress in the Corpo Plaza, City Center.

9 Clothing Mod - Cut-It-Out

Grants immunity to bleeding.

Gamers who specialize in melee builds will frequently be trading blows that have status effects. They can help themselves with the ideal body tree perks. To go further, the most common status effect enemies can apply is the bleed effect. Even common ranaged weapons have a decent chance of applying it. Perhaps the best value in the game is eliminating 100% of this bleed damage forever with a single clothing mod slot.

Where To Find The Cut-It-Out

V can buy it straight up at the clothing store in the Corpo Plaza, City Center. Somehow, the Cut-It-Out is only listed as an epic mod, so players won’t even break the bank with this thrifty purchase.

8 Clothing Mod - Coolit

Grants immunity to burn status effects.

Players who are following along will notice that this is the very last mod needed to stop worrying about status effects for the rest of the game. While nothing can make the dialogue choices any easier, at least gamers won’t have to worry about getting set on fire with the Coolit mod. That means perk points can be spent on the most valuable picks instead of defensively.

Where To Find The Coolit

Buy it at the clothing store in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. It’s a hefty price tag, in the ballpark of a brand new car, but the peace of mind that it grants is without equal.

7 Clothing Mod - Armadillo

Increases armor.

If it weren’t for a handful of screenshots, players might doubt that a legendary armadillo mod even exists since it can’t be bought and the chance of getting it randomly is very low. But don’t get too upset, the only difference is a percentage boost to the armor, with the epic getting 80% and the legendary getting 100%. Armor helps a V of any build and from the best lifepath or the worst.

Where To Find The Armadillo

There is a body at an assault in progress in Kabuki, Watson and that has at least one such mod on it. For the crafters out there, the blueprint can be found inside of a white case after stopping an assault in progress at Northside East.

6 Clothing Mod - Deadeye

+7% crit chance. +20% crit damage.

Before the latest updates, Patch 1.2 finally allowed critical chance and damage to stack directly. Now, this the right clothing slots and weapon, it’s possible to get a 100% crit chance that deals massive damage. The Deadeye, by bolstering both crit chance and damage, makes the best use of this update. What better way is there to show off to other players and the improved romantic options?

Where To Find The Deadeye

It’s for sale at the clothing shop in Wellsprings, Heywood. Make sure to bring a fat stack of eddies, this is the most expensive clothing mod so far. This could very well be because it’s one of the few clothing mods that translates to damage.

5 Muzzle - XC-10 Alecto

2. 5x damage multiplier when attacking from stealth. Silencer. Reduces damage by 15%.

There is only one rare silencer in the game and it is the XC-10 Alecto. While most silencers reduce damage by 30%, this one allows V to keep all but 15% of the damage, more than fair since sniping from stealth is doing a whopping 2.5 times the standard damage already. Not being heard from the shadows will keep intruders out of one of V’s new apartments.

Where To Find The XC-10 Alecto

Find this one for free in a suitcase at an assault in progress in Rancho Coronado, Santo Domingo.

4 Ranged Mod - Penetrator

Increases crit chance by 6%.

Before when crits didn’t stack, the Penetrator had to give way to the Crunch. Now, it’s considered a top-tier mod thanks to a 6% increase to crit chance, getting players who are trying to be the best closer to that perfect 100% crit chance. It’s so awesome that V should think about changing looks just to match the gun it’s equipped on.

Where To Find The Penetrator

Right between the Berkley & Bay and the Palms View Plaza in Wellspring, the crafting blueprint will be on the ground. This is the only way to get the legendary version of the mod, but, for the non-crafters, the epic version (with a 5% crit chance) can be purchased at other vendors.

3 Ranged Mod - Pacifier

Increases crit damage by 14%.

Once gamers get to the 100% crit chance threshold, the only thing to do from there is to stack crit damage and no weapon mod does it like the Pacifier, which adds 14% critical damage. When players get to this point, they should be feeling pretty good. To make things look as good requires a nifty mod.

Where To Find The Pacifier

Much like its counterpart, the Penetrator, the epic version can be purchased, but the legendary variety must be made. The blueprints are for sale at the gun shop in western Wellspring.

2 Ranged Mod - Vendetta

Increases headshot damage by 20%.

So much of the damage in the game is derived from headshots, so any mod that boosts hits to the head by 20% in damage is going to be regarded as extremely powerful. The Vendetta has been lovingly referred to in the community as the “headshot mod” and with good reason; this is a straight-up 20% boost to sniper fire or any other headshot and is often considered the best mod in all of Cyberpunk 2077. Based on the forums and global search data, it’s certainly the most sought-after!

Where To Find The Vendetta

There is the aftermath of a gang fight in The Glen, Heywood in an alley. It appears there were no survivors, so the Vendetta is up for grabs in a briefcase. How this is listed as only a “rare” mod is anybody’s guess.

1 Kiroshi Optics Fragment - Trajectory Analysis

Increases bonus damage from headshots by 50%.

This is the only legendary ocular mod in the game and it’s the only one gamers could ever want since it puts headshot damage through the roof with an extra 50%. It can end fights before they begin and decrease the reliance on important consumables.

Where To Find The Trajectory Analysis

Viktor has one for sale at his shop in Little China, Watson. As one might assume, this is of the legendary variety and it costs as much as a high-end car, but for gamers that focus on headshots, this is essentially a flat 50% increase to damage; way too good to pass up.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10th, 2020, and is available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC.
