According to a recent post on the CD Projekt Red forums, the developer is aware that, even with the new patch, Cyberpunk 2077 is still a hotbed of problems and crashes. Global Community Director for the company, Marcin Momot, uploaded a post a few days ago saying that the team appreciates “all the messages” that have been coming in from the fans, and that the studio is currently looking into the latest issues, some of which are quite serious.

One of the main issues so far is that the PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t launch via disc. At the time of writing, it does seem that there is another hotfix available which should sort the issue once users update their system. Another is that the PC port crashes due to an audio-related issue. CD Project Red is fixing the game, but in the meantime, the forum post does recommend PC players disable the drivers before opening up the game.
It’s no secret that Cyberpunk 2077 has been riddled with bugs and glitches since day one, which has not only caused upset in the community at large, leading to Sony temporarily pulling the game off its digital store, but harmed the otherwise good reputation of its developer. Over a series of significant patches, the game is steadily becoming the product fans have been waiting for since December 2020. However, as enormous as version 1.5 is, and the amount of fixes and changes it’s implemented, it suggests that there may still be a way to go.
Of course, many may now see the effort CDPR has been putting in as a reason to give Cyberpunk 2077 a second chance. It’s obvious the studio is working diligently to fix the problems that have been present, and have detracted from the excitement many felt in the years leading up to its release. However, many will see it as another example of the current “release now, fix it later” mentality that’s plaguing the industry.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available for Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
