However, the evidence grows stronger from there. Given the leak of the Standard Edition, one can assume that CDPR will be officially revealing Cyberpunk 2077’s various edition details at E3. Coincidentally, The Witcher 3’s Standard and Collector’s Editions, as well as marketing art near-identical to the leaked Cyberpunk 2077 Standard Edition, was also revealed at E3 back in 2014. The Witcher 3 then launched in February 2015, though it’d eventually be delayed until May.

In other words, if Cyberpunk 2077 is being marketed like The Witcher 3 was then an early 2020 launch between February and May seems likely. The inclusion of a Cyberpunk 2020 manual in the box would seem to support the idea of a 2020 launch, where launching in 2019 would be somewhat awkward when it comes to marketing. Consumers can sometimes get confused, and if the box of Cyberpunk 2077 literally says “Cyberpunk 2020” on it then, well, it should be obvious why CDPR’s marketing team would want to avoid that.

Needless to say, none of this speculation is official, but it does seem persuasive. CDPR will likely be announcing release information at E3, so confirmation is just a few days away. While fans would likely love a 2019 launch, early 2020 isn’t so far away for the next game from the acclaimed Witcher 3 studio.

As for Cyberpunk 2077’s Standard Edition, it’s surprisingly impressive. CD Projekt RED packed the standard, regularly priced The Witcher 3 box full of goodies and it appears to be carrying on the trend with Cyberpunk 2077. Here’s what’s included, translated from Polish:

Excited Cyberpunk 2077 fans can likely expect the announcement of a Collector’s Edition, too. The Witcher 3’s Collector’s Edition featured an impressive statue, so hopefully Cyberpunk 2077’s will as well. Expect more information soon.

Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
