For the uninitiated, when Cyberpunk 2077 first launched, players only had the option to customize their character at the beginning of the game. But now, after Cyberpunk 2077’s enormous update 1.5, players have a way to alter their character’s appearance pretty much any time they want. However, while many players just throw on some nice-looking clothes and call it a day, there are some visionary creatives out there using this newfound feature as an opportunity to bring pop culture icons into the game to varying degrees of success.

Speaking of which, Reddit user BLACK--HAND has taken advantage of Cyberpunk 2077’s vast character creator to recreate Faith from Mirrors Edge, Ada from Resident Evil 2, both Yennefer, Ciri, and Triss from The Witcher series, plus Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel Horizon Forbidden West. Because of this spectacular collection of virtual doppelgangers, BLACK--HAND’s series of images amassed nearly 2,000 upvotes, as many other users went to the reply section to commend the creator on their ingenuity and attention to detail.
Making up the post is a plethora of industry-defining characters, with Faith and Ada more notably leading the gallery. Fitting comfortably within the expansive world of Cyberpunk 2077, Faith is the main character in the game Mirror’s Edge. A game set in a similar futuristic dystopian society where a network of “Runners,” including Faith, are couriers that dispatch messages while evading government surveillance. Brilliantly, BLACK-_-HAND replicated all of Faith’s characteristics, such as her short bob hairstyle and her intricate triceps tattoos.
On top of this, The Witcher’s Ciri and Guerrilla Games’ beloved protagonist Aloy also made the cut. Aloy is particularly so accurate that even if the user hadn’t pointed out it was her, it’s likely gamers would have been able to recognize who the character was striving for. Everything that makes Aloy so iconic is present, like how her outfit comprises cured leather mixed with feathers, linen, and beads. Astoundingly, the same can further be said for BLACK-_-HAND’s interpretation of Ciri.
In summary, players of Cyberpunk 2077 are easily among the most imaginative fans in the modern gaming landscape. Hopefully, as more players are now returning to the streets of Night City, the community will have more remarkable recreations to share in the coming days.
