In fact, CDPR announced a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel not long ago, which suggests that both the studio and fan base are now much happier with the current installment enough to warrant a follow-up. While there’s no indication of when the sequel will release, it can be assumed that the developer will have learned its lesson from the negative feedback received during Cyberpunk’s initial launch. While gamers wait for the next entry, the modding community has been busy pumping out all sorts of custom content.

Take Nexus Mods user anygoodname, as an example. As seen by DSO Gaming, this user has released a new mod for Cyberpunk 2077 which opens up a part of the game that vanilla players can’t get to. Specifically, it allows V to gain entrance to the “inaccessible” Lower Market area in Megablock. As well as a new area to explore, the mod also features a recurring quest, which leads to rewards for the player’s Perk Points. However, according to the description, the modification is a “limited edition release” and the creator says the mod site is likely to be going down in early January. Whether this means it will also be removed from Nexus Mods cannot be said at this stage.
There are a lot of interesting and unique mods for Cyberpunk 2077, such as a reshader for the game that makes it look a bit like Doom or one that allows players to leave Night City. Admittedly, it’s just a barren landscape, but along with anygoodname’s mod, it shows that some are keen to expand the already pretty huge game world and explore.
There’s no denying that Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way since it released in December 2020. That’s not to say that things are perfect by any stretch, but it shows how much work CD Projekt Red put into the game after its launch.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
