We’re already off to a flying start on the prelims, with three of the four bouts being finished in the very first round. Darren O’Gorman picked up a buzzer beater victory over Salih Kulucan, which was followed up by a ‘deja vu’ type fight as James Webb finished Marcin Prostko with one second remaining in the round. The two results drew comparisons to UFC London just seven nights ago, when the same kind of thing happened with Paul Craig and Leon Edwards.

This was followed up by an even quicker light heavyweight contest, which was the only fight from that weight class of the evening, as Modestas Bukauskas impressed the crowd with a victory over Pelu Adetola.

Then came the main event of the prelims so to speak, with Tom Mearns looking to extend his unbeaten streak against Aiden Lee. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be, and after a hard-fought three round contest, Lee was awarded the win to the surprise of many inside Indigo at The O2.

The result may have been influenced by the crowd’s reaction in the end, but either way, it was an enjoyable enough contest as we prepare for an evening packed with fights.
