And don’t think Morgan’s stopped there, the author also had some things to say about Killzone 2, specifically the graphics, saying, “what I have seen of Crysis 2 in Alpha Stages, surpasses Killzone 2.” I don’t doubt that Crysis 2 will look very pretty, but from a technical standpoint, something can look great. But if it can run like that on a console consistently, then I will be far more impressed. Morgan was shown bits of Crysis 2 in development so he could “visualize the scenes and scripts for the story events.”
To be frank, seeing a writer so gung-ho about the game he’s working on is a bit worrying to me. It’s one thing to write out the story and scripted events, but a whole other team is supposed to put those ideas and words into things I can see and interact with.
Regarding his problems with Halo, let’s look back at the original Crysis game where it was just one guy behind a mask who had to “get up there and kill guys”. Only it was in a very pretty environment. Crysis always felt like one of those games I could play for a fast paced action experience, not significant emotional conveyance. I’m just hoping Morgan’s words won’t traumatize Crytek Studios in any way or harm their image, because there’s really no reason for any of this to be going on.
